When you do make a word from the letters, the tiles not only light up but also beep for you.  This tells you that the Scrabble Flash Cubes has noted the word plus it’s just plain fun to see and hear your victories.  The two inch tiles will show five random letters and you move the tiles around to try to form words.  When the tiles touch, they recognize the words as said above.

The game is recommended for ages 8 and up, but if you have a younger child who is good at spelling they would probably have fun with this.  And for the lower age ranges, there is an option to play with only 4 letter tiles instead of all 5, so Scrabble Flash Cubes is quite adaptable to different ages.

There are three game modes and can be played alone or with a group.  If you used paper to track scores, you could easily play for a longer time than the  game says.  Each tile uses a CR2032 watch battery and the set comes with batteries included, a refreshing and money-saving change these days.
